Rob Hale – President
Rob is an accomplished IT Executive with over 20 years of hands-on experience managing, delivering and implementing large scale applications. In 1999, Rob founded ECommerce Systems, Inc. (now ECS Team) to focus on creating a consulting company that establishes successful delivery as a standard for doing business.
Rob is very active from the beginning of sales cycles through determining project requirements. He is actively involved on all key ECS Team initiatives and is considered an industry expert when it comes to large scale, custom application development. He also manages the business development team, creates the strategic roadmap for the company, reviews staffing needs and assists in building project teams.
Rob is a graduate of DeVry University with a degree in computer information systems. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing at Winter Park, boating on Lake Pueblo, and golfing. He also spends a lot of time with his wife Beth and their two daughters, which keeps them plenty busy with school activities and club sports.
Outside of Work
Kurt Kellner – Chief Technical Architect
Kurt has more than twenty years of software implementation experience, ranging from the simplest of utilities to enterprise-wide systems serving millions of customers. He has a hands-on architecture approach and is constantly engaged with key ECS Team initiatives. Kurt is considered an industry expert in large scale, high availability, mission critical application development. He possesses both design and implementation skills with the ability to easily support strategic and tactical business demands.
Since joining ECS Team as Chief Technical Architect and partner in 2000, he has designed and architected several applications using both off-the-shelf foundation software, as well as open source technologies. Over the past two years, Kurt has supported numerous Fortune 500 customers with cloud-native solutions, specifically the implementation of Cloud Foundry. He is a Certified Practitioner of Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Kurt is a Colorado native and currently resides in Littleton with his wife. In his spare time, he combines his interest in woodworking, microcontrollers and electronics to create kinetic art.
Joel Mischke – Chief Financial Officer
Joel is responsible for the overall administrative, financial and risk management operations of ECS Team. He also directs the company’s financial reporting and metrics. Joel thoroughly enjoys the problem-solving aspect of his job, especially mining data to facilitate management decisions.
Joel has over 10 years of accounting experience in public and private accounting. He was previously an auditor for a top ten accounting firm where he managed staff and client relationships, as well as evaluated risk, internal control structures and engagements to successfully complete audits for a variety of clients.
When Joel joined ECS Team in 2012, he worked in as the company’s controller, where he managed ECS Team’s day-to-day accounting operations and was instrumental in the implementation of the NetSuite/OpenAir ERP system.
Joel is a graduate of Metropolitan State College with a degree in Accounting. In his free time, he likes to golf, ride horses and spend time with his wife Erica and their two children – Colton and Riley.
Mark Carlson – Chief Technology Officer
Mark is an innovative technology executive with over 30 years of leadership experience designing and implementing strategies in enterprise architecture, integration and application development for large enterprises. As CTO, he launched ECS Team’s focus on cloud-native development in 2014, and since then, ECS Team’s cloud-native solutions practice has completed nearly 40 projects. Mark is passionate about helping large enterprises make a significant jump forward in their ability to continuously and safely deliver innovative software to production.

The excitement of enabling a customer move from infrequent, massive software releases to deployments of small changes multiple times per day has been very rewarding and helps build confidence and excitement to do the same for even more customers.
Mark graduated from Baylor University with a degree in computer science. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Colorado’s backcountry by ATV, international travel, and spending time with his wife Neva and their four children and new granddaughter.
