ECS is proud to partner with Community Shares of Colorado to offer employees the option to support the nonprofits of their choice through payroll contributions.  Community Shares invests more than $1.5 million in Colorado nonprofits each year.  Some examples of local charities include: Project Angel Heart delivers one months’ worth of nutritious meals, Colorado Public Radio airs 20 min of free public radio, Dumb Friends League spays or neuters a pet for free, Colorado Open Lands permanently protects 6 acres of critical wildlife habitat and Doctors Care provides health care to uninsured neighbors.

Numerous ECS employees continue to donate their time and money to good causes within the community such as...

Tom is a member of the Ridgeline Wranglers which is a group of volunteers who help maintain and improve Stewart Trail at Ridgeline Open Space through Castle Rock’s POST (Partners parks, open space and trails) volunteer program. The group has approximately 60 members and six trained crew leaders. They work on de-rutting the trail, implement improvements, and eliminate berms, noxious weeds, clear scrub oak and other brush that may encroach on the trail or affect visibility. It’s hard work but a great way to give back to the community.

As an annual tradition, during the week of January 23rd – 29th, Ken participates in the fundraising drive for “Officials against Breast Cancer” through the Colorado Springs Basketball Officials Association (CSBOA).  High School Basketball officials wear pink/black striped shirts and pink whistles to help raise breast cancer awareness & to prompt fans to donate whatever they can at the basketball games.  As a certified CSBOA official, he donates game fees received for that week to the drive and challenging coaches/teachers to donate according to their needs as well.  In 2011, the CSBOA organization raised more funds than any other High School basketball organization in the nation after coming in 2nd place for 2 years in a row to a Connecticut official’s organization.
